| Is sharing your faith with others something you dread – even though in your heart you really want to? For most Christians, sharing their personal witness of salvation through Jesus Christ is like giving a presentation before a huge crowd. We’re scared. We don’t know how to start. We’re afraid of looking foolish or intolerant and don’t want to stand out from the crowd. Not all of us can “preach like Paul.” Yet, we know that is what Christ calls us to do in the Great Commission – “Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19. We want to obey Christ’s command, yet we don’t know how to begin. |

| Planting Seeds: Tools for the Timid, but Willing, Witness is a short book, a guide if you will, on how to begin. And unlike other books on “how to witness,” it is written in an easy-going, conversational style that won’t overwhelm or “talk over” the person reading it. The basic idea behind Plantings Seeds is for Christians to think about things that interest them – their favorite movies, songs, books, and other parts of popular culture – and look for ways to integrate a conversation about their faith when talking to someone about it. Just as people like to stand around the water cooler at work discussing a really cool movie they just saw over the weekend, a Christian can use that same conversation and start talking about their faith in non-confrontational, non-direct way. |

A simple example is the movie, The Matrix. This movie is full of religious symbolism, especially the Keanu Reeves character, Neo, who is a clear example of a “Christ figure” (dying and resurrecting to help his people). How easy would it be to draw a parallel to Jesus Christ (the true Christ figure!) within a discussion about the film with your friends, co-workers, and acquaintances?
Planting Seeds includes many examples of “seed planters” (people who plant the message of faith for the Holy Spirit to water and grow) from the Bible and from people today to offer inspiration and ideas to the reader, as well as a wealth of ideas, checklists, Bible verse sidebars, and a ton of reference sources to give readers a direction to start going in, that is, to start taking that first step towards having the confidence to share their faith with others. |

| Christians want to share their faith. All they need is a little guidance, a bit of direction, and a pinch of inspiration. Plantings Seeds offers that. This a book all Christians, no matter what level of maturity they are at in their faith, will want to read and refer back to often. It’s the kind of small little guide (about 100 pages) they will keep in their desk at work, or on the bed stand at home, or in their pocket wherever they go. With this book, they will become God’s seed planters. |
